2008 Rule Updates
NOBODY is allowed on the track at anytime except for the line up. If your crew or guests come on to the track at anytime during the race, YOU will be sent to the rear of the field. Once in the infield, your crew and guests are not allowed outside the guardrail for ANY reason. If they do pass the guardrail, YOU will be sent to the rear OR Black Flagged
New - 3/7/08 - All classes except You Car have had rule changes.
1. All cars are not required to complete the first lap under the green flag for a race to be officially started. Speedway will determine if a complete restart or a caution period are in order.
2. Vehicles that spin-out on three occasions or are involved in a number of altercations will be black flagged for the evening.
3. Any vehicle black flagged is expected to leave the speedway immediately. It is the drivers responsibility to see an official to find out the reason for being black flagged.
4. Any vehicle not obeying the move over flag will be moved to the rear of the field or black flagged if the flagman feels such a penalty is in order.
5. Any vehicle deemed to be a hazard to the other drivers on the track will be black flagged at the discretion of the speedway officials.
6. The following are race procedure discretion calls made by speedway officials concerning accidents on the speedway.
***A. Speedway officials will determine the vehicles that are considered to be directly involved in the accident. Any repairs done on your race cars either on the track or in the pits will require you to go to the rear of the field on the restart. Vehicles caught up in an accident before the caution is displayed will start in the rear on a restart. If caution has been displayed it will be a discretion call. We will make an effort to sort out an accident taking out only the cars that are immediately involved in the accident and putting them in the rear of the restart.
***B. Even if you don't stop on the racing surface speedway officials may feel that you were the cause of the accident and may make you go to the rear for the restart.
***C. Speedway officials look for contact among vehicles and vehicles that stop on the track when putting cars to the rear for restart.
***D. If you go to infield or pit under a caution or red you go to the rear on restart.
7. Initial race starts get the green just before the flag stand. Restarts start at the pylon on the back straight going into turn 3. On a restart all cars will be single file. All cars will pass single file on the left of the pylon. Pass a car before the pylon and you will go to the rear, or be black flagged and sent to the pits for a one lap penalty.
***A. Initial starts: Cars in double file. At a moderate rate of speed.
***B. Restarts: Single file. Races will be restarted at a moderate rate of speed. We will use a pylon for restarts, you must pass on the left side of the pylon. No one passes another car car until you have passed the pylon. Flagman determines when a race is restarted, not the leader. If the leader slows down to a speed less than a moderate rate of speed the green light will come on for restart of the race. Leader may well be put to the rear if he drags down the speed of restart to a crawl. No bullcrap, the leader is suppose to just restart the race, not crash everyone else behind him, a moderate rate of speed must be observed on a restart. If leader is passed as a result of playing games then that's just the way it is, when the green light is displayed the race is restarted.
***C. The race is ready to restart when the traffic lights are turned out. This may happen in the middle of a caution lap, please pay attention to the traffic lights.
8. Any driver driving in a dangerous manner will be black flagged and possibly suspended. Any driver that is a hazard on the speedway will be black flagged.
9. Speed limit in pit area and infield is 10 MPH.
10. Regarding Pit Roads: Pit roads have been installed so you can work on your race car during the race in safety. If you stop your car in such a manner as to prevent the race from being started, you will be penalized a lap(s) by speedway officials. There are 5 exits to the infield if you have trouble, please use them to get off the racing surface if you have trouble.
11. A driver can time trial one car and one car only. If a driver starts the race in a car other than the one he time trialed he will start in the rear of the field.
12. If you start the feature in a car other than the car you ran in the heat race with you will start in the rear of the field.
13. When the flagman initially starts a race, and the green flag is initially waved, the race has officially started, regardless of a lap being completed or not. Once the race is green flagged you can not change cars and receive points for the second car driven.
14. If a driver changes cars he must use a car that normally competes in the same class. A sportsman class car can not be used as a back-up car by a driver that normally runs the late model class. A sportsman driver wishing to move up to a late model after the season has started must OK that decision with speedway officials. A driver may compete in more than one class with the approval of speedway officials.
15. If a driver has trouble during warm-ups and we invert cars or draw for position for the start of the race, a driver may borrow a car and start in the position he drew. Remember points go to the driver not the car.
16. Point standing will be posted at the scales every Saturday night. If there is a problem with your points or someone else's you must inform speedway officials the Saturday that the error is posted, if not it will not be changed. In plain language, don't tell us on the last race of the season that someone's points were wrong in the first race.
17. It is a drivers responsibility to check in at the scales to be sure he is registered in the evenings line-up. Be sure to check the board at the scales for the nights schedule.
18. Races of less than 50 laps the caution laps will not count. Races of 50 laps or more caution laps will count.
19. ALL weight added to your race car must be painted white with your car number on it.
20. ALL cars must have a 2.5 pound fire extinguisher equipped in the race car.
