2008 C&R Auto Service Grocery Getters
All changes are in bold and red.
1. Any Sedan with a minimum wheelbase of 108 inches will be eligible. Station wagons and full size pick-up trucks permitted. Must have 5 lug wheel pattern. Motor must be completely stock. No off road or aftermarket parts allowed. No Camaros, Mustangs, or Firebirds. Stock means stock, if it is altered or questionable , it is wrong.
2. A full roll cage is required.
*a. Roll cage cannot alter the geometry of the car.
*b. See diagram for minimum requirements.
*c. Front rollcage loop permitted. Bracing from front of cage to area around radiator permitted.
*d. 2 support bars off rear of cage may be welded to rear frame rail on each side.
3. Doors must be welded or bolted closed.
4. Windshield must be retained.
5. Interior must be stripped.
6. Factory bucket seat with headrest permitted but must be welded not to bend. Racing seat highly recommended. Must have racing lap belt and shoulder harness.
7. Hood and trunk lid must be fastened with hood pins.
8. Suspension parts must be absolutely stock for vehicle used. No modifications allowed.. Springs must be stock appearing and in stock mounts. Can use front spring spacers between coils or spring pad spacer on A-arm.
9. Unibody frame link-ups; Unibody cars can link up with 2 inch by 2 inch box tubing,nothing larger. Link-ups cannot extend beyond the current unibody front to rear. Area of link-up limited to the area where no frame now exists. Cannot remove any of stock uni-body frame. Link-up cannot be X'ed from side to side, no side to side bracing in any manner from 2x2 box tubing.
10. Stock appearing shocks must be retained in stock shock mounts. Gas shocks OK.
11. Tires: Must run tires purchased from Eastside Speedway.
12. WHEELS: A 15x10 inch wheel is permitted. All four wheels must have the same offset. Must be a racing wheel. Beadlock wheels OK.
a. If wheel spacers are used on one side, same size spacer must be used on the opposite side.
13. Cubic inch limit; - Can use a V-8 of correct year as body of car your using. Must be a mass produced passenger car motor. Heads must be correct for engine & year. If in doubt about these rules - call speedway for further at 540-943-9336
a. GM; 350 cubic inches plus.060
b. Ford; 351 cubic inches plus .060
c. Chrysler; 360 cubic inches plus .060
**** Engine Specs.
*1. Rotating assembly can be balanced. Reducing the weight of rotating parts prohibited.
*2. Heads and intake cannot be angle milled. Must be correct heads and intake for year and make of car. Must be a late model head. Must be correct head for make of car. **Note; If you run a 305 head, Must be a 305 motor. You can run a 350 head on a 350 block. NO 305 head on a 350 block!
Head Rule;
Chevy; 350 head - 70cc min.
1.940 in / 1.500 ex
Ford 351 head - 55cc min
1.840 in / 1.540 ex
Chevy 305 head - 53cc min
1.840 in / 1.500 ex
*3. No removing of casting marks, grinding or polishing of any internal or external engine parts.
*4. Stock rocker arms must be retained. Poly-locks ok.
*5. Rods same as Street Stock. Must have full stock skirts.
*6. Must have stock manufacturers or similar replacement hydraulic cam and lifters.
Cam Shafts - Lift measured at rockerarm
Ford - .260, .260 / Chevy - .260, .273
A. Aftermarket Crankshaft allowed but must weigh,
1. Ford = 52 pounds. 2. Chevrolet = 50 pounds. 3. Chrysler = 52 pounds.
14. Stock factory carburetor for car used.
15. Only stock factory electrical systems allowed. no aftermarket modifications. Aftermarket coil OK.
16. Automatic Transmissions only. Must have factory original case. Must have torque converter.
17. Must have stock rear ends. No 9 inch Ford rear ends.
18. Aluminum radiator permitted in stock location.
19. Gas Tanks: FUEL CELL HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Fuel tanks can be relocated to a sealed truck area and mounted properly. Maximum 10 gal. tank.
20. Battery can be relocated in an enclosed box with a cover in the right front floor pan or in the trunk area.
21. Air cleaner; Any air cleaner permitted.
22. Weight: Car and driver total weight of 3100 lbs after the race with driver.
23. Added weight must be 50/50 left side and right side. Added weight must be installed under driver and passenger sides mounted frame.
24. Car numbers must be 20 inches tall. No 3 digit numbers or letters allowed.
25. Must have NASCAR type window net.
26. Must have Snell 95 helmet. Must have fire proof driver jacket and pants. Neck collar and fireproof gloves required.
27. All chrome removed. No air cleaners thru hood.
28. Exhaust: NO aftermarket headers. No stainless steel headers. Stock exhaust manifolds only.
